10. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is a comedy drama based on same-sex relationships. Kartik Singh (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a boy from Delhi who falls in love with Aman Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar). Kartik is flamboyant and outgoing, while Aman is quiet and introverted. When there’s a wedding in Aman’s family back home in Allahabad, Kartik decides to string along, pretending to be Aman’s friend.

9. Gulabo Sitabo

Gulabo Sitabo is a Hindi language comedy and drama film, which is centred on two quirky people and is set in the backdrop of the city of Lucknow. Amitabh Bachchan plays the landlord, and Ayushmann Khurrana plays his tenant. The landlord and tenant don’t see eye to eye with each other and are always at loggerheads. In their bid to put the other one down, they indulge in a ridiculous game of one-upmanship, where each one wants to score points against the other.

8. Jawaani Janeman

Jawaani Jaaneman is a comedy film that centres on the character of Jaswinder Singh, aka Jazz, who lives life like it’s a never-ending party. The 40 year old is a property broker, with a fondness to bed different women. Trouble brews in his paradise one day when he meets a pretty young thing Tia (Alaya) at the club and brings her home. That is when she reveals to him that he may be her father. A DNA test confirms the same.

Unpaused is an anthology of five short films – five stories directed by five different directors and featuring different actors and characters. The films have been shot during the lockdown. Hence the narratives of all the stories focus on how people from different generations, classes of society and situations face the lockdown and emerge stronger from it.

Ujda Chaman is a film about the struggles of a man who became bald at a very young age. The film showcases the struggle and comments that a bald person has to go through everyday.

Thappad is an emotional drama that is centred on a housewife Amrita, aka Amu (Tapsee Pannu) who questions the patriarchal mindset of society, of her loved ones and everyone around her when her husband (Pavail Gulati) slaps her one day before a houseful of guests. For the world, it’s just one slap, and the man should be forgiven. But for Amu, it’s a question of her self-respect. Even if it’s just one slap, he had no right to hit her, is her contention.
