Delhi Capitals gets a major shock after their all-rounder cricketer Axar Patel has become corona positive.
The team was already suffering due to the departure of captain Shreyas Iyer, who suffered from an injury. According to news agency ANI, Axar Paten has been tested positive for Covid-19.
Now, they have to follow the protocol associated with it. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman Nitish Rana was infected with the coronavirus. Nitish Rana joined the team after celebrating his holiday from Goa.
The 27-year-old Axar Patel has so far scored 80 wickets in 97 matches in his IPL career and 913 runs. The IPL will be in Chennai on April 9 against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
8 ground staff coronavirus of Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai have also been found infected. According to reports, 19 ground staff members of the Wankhede Stadium were screened for the Covid-19 test last week. Out of these, 3 were reported on 26th March, which was found positive. In IPL 2021 this season, Delhi Capitals will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai on April 10.
