The inclusion of veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh in the team may have been a few beetles, but Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan said on Wednesday that it will strengthen his spin department in view of Chennai’s slow pitches in the forthcoming Indian Premier League.
Harbhajan (40 years old) had decided not to play in the league stage in Dubai last year. He bought the two-time IPL champion at a base price of two crores while he was not in the first round of the auction.
Harbhajan will join the spin department of Kolkata, which also includes Sunil Narayan, Shakib Al Hasan, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakraborty.
“Connecting Harbhajan with our team has strengthened our team,” the KKR captain said at the virtual media conference. When you look at our spin department in full it is one of the best of the tournament and it is factual. ’’
Due to the epidemic, IPL 2021 is being held in six sites from 9th April to 30th May in which no team will play on its domestic turf.
