Hawkeye: Hailee Steinfeld Reveals How Comics Impacted Her Character

The Hawkeye series will arrive at Disney+ later this year and will see the return of Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, as well as the debut of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.

During a recent conversation with SFX Magazine, Steinfeld talked about preparing for the role and compared the reading of Marvel Comics to reading the poems of Emily Dickinson, which she also plays in the Apple TV+ series, Dickinson.

Here is what Hailee said,

“Incredibly excited to share this officially with the world. As far as comics are concerned, yes. Once again, it’s like Emily and her poetry: having this world of infinite information. I’ve always loved comics. I’ve always been a very visual person, and a big book with something over 200-250 pages has always intimidated me, so comics have always been something that attracted me because of their visual appearance. So I had a lot of fun reading these comics, and going through them and discovering these elements of Kate Bishop that are there that we’re giving life to the show and other elements of the comics.”
