Last Monday, June 14, DC released the official trailer for season 2 of Stargirl, and with it the revelation of a new character in the series, the daughter of The Green Lantern, Jade.
In the preview, Jade, played by Ysa Penarejo, seems to be fighting Stargirl, but most likely she will become the newest member of the newly established Justice Society of America (JSA).
Since the new JSA lineup began to reunite by having members recruited by Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), the audience has begun to wonder, after all, who would wear Alan Scott’s green lantern ring. The trailer answered the big question of fans of the series, but another came up with it, Jade has powers?
We know that in comics she is born with super skills after her father’s exposure to the power of the Lantern, but it is not yet known if the series will maintain this premise.
In addition to Jade, apparently, the new season will also introduce the magical genius Thunderbolt, which also appears in the newly released preview, and will likely be used by Alkoya Brunson’s Jakeem Thunder.
The trailer also shows Jonathan Cake as the classic antagonist JSA Shade , plus Meg DeLacy, who quickly appears as the villain Cindy Burman .
Although at the end of the first season Cindy got a crystal that contained the evil supervillain Eclipso, the same does not appear in the preview, which leaves us in doubt of his presence in the second season.
