Bearing The Death Of His Father

When he was in class X, he worked for pocket money in a PCO. To support his family, he even used to sell Dupattas. Kapil’s father was suffering from cancer.

Kapil Sharma once said in an interview that he prayed to God to call him to look after his father who was suffering from pain due to cancer. His father’s death had broken Kapil Sharma, but only then did he think of strengthening himself.

He was getting his father’s job but refused to take it. Kapil’s elder brother Ashok then joined the police instead of his father.

Beginning of his career in Comedy

In 2005, Kapil Sharma had the opportunity to showcase his skills in the comedy show of the Punjabi channel ‘MH One’ for the first time, and he was also the second runner-up on the show.

The Punjabi show proved to be a turning point in his career. Kapil Sharma gave audition for the ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge‘ on TV but was rejected at the Amritsar audition.

Kapil Sharma still did not give up and he came back to Delhi from Amritsar, auditioned again, and this time Kapil Sharma not got selected, but also won the title of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge‘ season three (2007).

Kapil Sharma had the opportunity to work in many shows like ‘Comedy Circus’, ‘Peep Show’ and ‘Chhote Mian’ thanks to his talent, but Kapil Sharma really got a big break in the TV industry when he brought his own show Comedy Nights with Kapil.

Kapil Sharma’s Bollywood journey and road to fame

Kapil Sharma made his Bollywood debut with Abbas Mastan’s film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. Kapil made it to the Forbes India celebrity list for the first time in 2013.

He got 93rd position and moved up to 33rd position in 2014. Kapil was announced in the entertainment category as CNN IBN Indian of the Year 2013.
